In the Beginning. We start our story when Piccadilly Backpackers was originally called "The Piccadilly Hotel". We first opened our doors to backpackers and travellers from around the world in December 2002. It all started with only 2 Levels, a handful of staff and another handful of guests - And a Reservations Department based in Gibraltar!

With its prime location, The Piccadilly Hotel was quickly hot on the tongue with Agents in the London area. The hostel was even selling beds that didn't exist! Having to quickly unpack and build bunk beds to cater for soon-to-arrive guests. Within the coming months, the hostel swiftly expanded to all 4 levels.

It soon became apparent that "Piccadilly Hotel" as a name was slightly misleading. Especially when Reception staff were getting asked for conference rooms every second day - And a new image and name for the hostel was created.

Since "Piccadilly Backpackers" was born in September 2003, the hostel has been getting better and better - Winning numerous monthly "Worldwide Top Ten Hostel" awards, and at the 2003 H'Oscars, Piccadilly Backpackers took the "Best Large Hostel Worldwide" award, and was also ranked 9 th Best Hostel in the world!

Our hostel has a reputation for knowing how to have a good time and party - And in September 2004, our usual "Entertainment? - We've got it sorted." program took on a whole new meaning, with the opening of a new backpackers bar! The Midas Touch, located outside the hostel, less then a minute away - serves Cold Beers, Good Food, Great Music - topped off with a vibrant atmosphere - Catering for the budget traveller and backpacker!

In March 2005, Our 600 beds were wrapped around 4 colourful colours that have perked up a tired hostel from the previous year, and added extra character to our interior.

We have always prided ourselves with our family of staff - Many whom were guests before joining the team. We value their input, feedback, commitment and most of all their team spirit! Piccadilly Backpacker is for the most, built by backpackers for backpackers.

In December 2005, Piccadilly Backpackers got bigger and better then ever before. Setting a new standard for the Hostel experience. The hostel expanded to a new level, making Piccadilly Backpackers a 700 Bed accommodation hostel, spread over 5 colourful levels. The third floor introduced Japanese style "POD" dorms, personal bed lights, laundry facilities and our Hostel Art project.

Simply put - Piccadilly Backpackers strives to be the best hostel in the world! With beds from only £12, and being London 's most central hostel, a long list of facilities - with the help of our team and our guests, we are one step closer!
